One of the brave to attempt a "reflection" of a different sort! :) I can't say that I am a huge fan of the subject that you chose... I feel like it's a play on our emotions (sorry) :( Technically, I think the photo could have been executed in a more effective manner. It just doesn't capture me... Meets the challenege? 3 out of 5 - Technically, etc.? 2 of 5 - Total = 5 - JB

An alternative definition of reflection, very creative, but risky for "popular" review. Good foto. 8 Swash

Nice depth of field--face and pix of ground zero both in focus.

Comment by RedRuthann:
I'm being straight forward - NOT to offend. I think I understand what you were going for, but I don't think it works for this. The goal is to use the neg space to emphasize the subject. In this case, the neg space does not do that, in fact I think it takes away from the subject. The dog is beautiful, the colors in the photo are also great. I'm not getting a wow...I think, ok, there's a dog...I'm not getting any feeling - I think there is tooo much neg space. Using neg space to emphasize the subject, does not necessarily mean use a lot of neg space, sometimes the smallest amount of neg space will create a larger impact for the subject. What is it about the neg space that you are trying to use to bring out the subject? Is it the green of the grass and the contrast to the dog? What would it look like at a different angle--like placing the camera on the ground...
please do not misinterpret my comment - I'm just being honest and trying to be helpful.
