Thank you all for your votes and comments. This was the first thing that jumped to mind when I saw the smoke challenge announced, although I was a little weary of doing something I had already done before. But it paid off and I am happy :)

What I meant was that if you switch on and off the light very fast the filament doesn't burn right through, it just burns a little like you see in this image. You can do that about 4 times before the filament blows completely.
