What I like about this photo is that it's plain. It doesn't rely on other things (like the sky, river etc) to make it beautiful. Your photo is simple and it tells me how old the roof beam is.

It's a shame the polar bear and arctic fox are looking away, you could have improved it by making noise so they looked. The igloo is a nice touch, and balances out the image perfectly. A little more sharpening and perhaps a contrast boost, this would have been a winner.
