squirrel4.jpgby meyersComment by krnodil: Heh, heh. I can see why this is your favorite. He looks like he's waiting for a bus. :) Nice random shots of yellow to highlight the little guy. |

Partners in Crimeby meyersComment by colorcarnival: I'm glad that yours was more appreciated than mine - this is so cute! And it really represents the innocent moment that Halloween actually does have. Love the smirky on the girl's face! |

Playing Dice with the Universeby meyersComment by levyj413: Interesting composition, Rob. I like the intersecting corners and placement of the dots (pips?). I think your score got hit for two things:
1) There's no real detail in the surface of the die. That's just a fact of life with this subject. But one of the joys of macros, at least for me, is seeing details I wouldn't normally be able to see.
2) The lack of detail makes the whole face look blown out, which is a sizable portion of the photo to have no detail.
Still an interesting shot, though! |

Soft Ambientby meyersComment by krnodil: The framing is great - nice echo of the arch of the sofa back with the arch of her body, and the placement of objects give the setting some depth. I think the depth of field you chose is excellent. The shadows and lighting look natural too me, and just what I would expect to see - if you had more "professional" portrait lighting, it would look too much set-up and the viewer would lose the sense of being there, IMO. |

Playing Dice with the Universeby meyersComment by lovethelight: It is neat to see how imperfect the dots art, when you look at dice they seem just spotted but giving this new perspective shows that on old dice the paint is often chipping, it is neat |
