This is a pretty neat picture, I like the way you still get the idea of squares across, but not quite having a full square (I think challenges can be more in spirit then in physical terms ;-) )

Your focus here is excellent, and I love the contrast of the stark black against the cloudy, pleasantly blue sky. The coloring is really beautiful. Also I like your use of DOF here, you have the well focused "squares" and the background looks slightly blurry which makes you appear to be looking through a window.

I think that technically this photo has a good feeling, the leading lines are very helpful, your eye can follow this picture pretty well, especially since most of the straight lines go from the bottom left to the top right, and the squiggly lines go from the bottom right to the top left, its really interesting. It would not have been as effective if you had put it upright. Also the fact that none of the lines cross directly in the center is excellent.

Overall I think this is a great photo, though maybe not a wow photo, which may be where you lost some points, but you still did pretty well. I think its a pleasant photo to look at, it met the challenge, and was executed well. I really don't have anything to suggest changing about it. Nice Job!

COMPOSITION... There are several aspects to the composition that can be improved, and they mainly center on the placing of elements in the photo. The cars overlap and would probably be better at opposite ends of the photo with the sign in the center. Would make more of an impact, with one car moving away from a sign that is pointing in the other direction. I know that shots like this aren't really planned, they just happen, and not much planning can really be done to ensure you're at the right view point at the right time, but then luck will often play an element in photography :)

That said, there is too much overlapping, one car on top of the other, the signpost cutting across both cars. The background is slightly distracting with so many elements in it. On stretches of roads such as these there are probably some areas that have a nice, clear background. Even if you're fixed to this spot because you were capturing the sign, you can try moving to your left and right...sometimes a small adjustment in your position changes the nature of your image drastically.

TECHNIQUE... Perhaps you needed a faster shutter speed, the cars look slightly blurred, and I think the light that's reflecting off the cars is a little to harsh... Not much can be done there, the rest of the image is very well exposed, maybe the timing of day played a role. Its important to shoot at times where the light's working in your favor and not causing any harsh or unintended reflections.

OVERALL... a little luck and a different viewpoint that makes a cleaner composition is all I think it needed. Either than that, you managed to capture an example of very good timing :)

This is pretty cool. I think it is very creative. I do think that the diagonal view of the squares is a little disturbing to the eye. I really like the clouds!

Simple yet effective. I like how the foreground and background compliment each other. I think the sky with the clouds adds an interpretational depth to the image, giving it an imprisoned yet hopefull feel. And it meets the challenge of squares :)
