I think the composition could be improved if there was more space on the left side as opposed to the right.

awkward yet compelling. I think both are due to composition which for me is this images strong point. The lighting is perfect. The slight blur of the head gives the image tension which works so well. I know, in just a moment, he will look at me and I will look him in the eye. He will hrumph and trot away. Thank you for the glimpse of what is possible.

Amazing shot, I can't imagine how cold it could have been. I love the snow on his head. Good choice of black and white.
