I'd like to see this one taken just before the sun rose or just after it sets. As it ism the light/shadow split is a bit too centered. Nice job meeting the challenge.

I love the colors, but actually wish the sky wasn't so blue. It would have been nice if the sky was overcast and washed out. Then you'd have a colder feel to the whole image. Also, I think that subtle, diffused lighting on the tree (i.e. shot in Golden Hour) would have looked better to emphasize the idea that the tree is dead than these harsh mid-day shadows.

this is a weak interpretation of the theme in my opinion. Maybe closing in on the small arcs of water in the far part of the frame would have made a better subject.
