Yes, I think the contrast adjustment improves the shot - makes the finer details pop out more.

That truly is such a penetrating gaze. Love the focus and offset composition.

awwww cute kid! but I think the eyes would have more power if they weren't so processed. The rest of the picture either needs to be that high of contrast or they should be toned down a bit. Then the depth of the gaze will be greater because they are more discrete I think that your most recent edit is better but the eyes still look almost alien.

i like the version with the less contrast i think. had a softer, more dereamy feel which i liked.

As others have mentioned, I find this a bit muddy in terms of contrast. Especially in her face and hair. This also helps point out the *slight* over-working of the eyes more than it needed to be IMO. Also, one tiny last nitpick.. the catchlights in her eyes. I'd do a little delicate work and try and get them to match up just a little better.

As for the subject itself, she's a gorgeous girl with a very intense look. Great composition (a personal favorite of mine, which I use a lot).

yes Ken, that is also Kadence....she is indeed beautiful...; ) here is the b&w version of that photo that I did at the time, (about 9 months ago), though I would probably do it differently now....

Yeah, like she just spilled a whole gallon of orange juice on the kitchen floor! :P

I like the eyes, the composition and her expression, but overall a tad dark for me. Kadence is very photogenic though - I went looking at some of your other pics and like this one alot:

A BW version of that would be cool, I think. It has the same sort of eye exposure.

edit to add: I am assuming that is the same girl, but maybe younger?
