I love the s-curve created by the rocks marking the path which leads your eye right to the lone cactus. Although normally I like more foreground in shots like these so that the cactus appears further away and more "lonely" I think your composition works well. You might try it next time though..get lower to the ground and back some more if possible. The sepia tone works very nicely on this and really looks like an old west photo.
Another think I like is the fairly high harsh sun which really creates some great shadows. This would have taken on a completely different feel on a cloudy day with soft light. |
