"Unknown"by tfarrell23Comment by HBunch: this must have been a long time ago! wow. nice find. it is sad that no one knew who it was. definately a reflection of despair for someone thoguh. focus and clarity are good lighting conditions are also good. angle and framing/cropping are ok. I wonder how this would have looked from a lower angle, or did the weeds cover up the writing? good luck in the challenge. |

"If Ansel Saw Elk...."by tfarrell23Comment by lisae: It's a bit cheeky to put Ansell Adams' name in your title. I'm sure you've had a lot of comments on it. Just being a black and white wilderness photo doesn't make it Adamsesque.
There isn't much tonal depth in this image, making it seem overall grey and murky. The composition is OK. It seems like you either have a low end camera or you compressed this too much, because it seems pixelated. |

"If Ansel Saw Elk...."by tfarrell23Comment by Swashbuckler: I think cropping the trailer houses might have been a good idea that Ansel would have approved of. The wagon wheel and water trough also say to me, this isn't quite as wild of a scene. Other than those items, this is a pretty nice photo. My personal bias (no score effect, really!) but to me, wildlife pics need to be color.

"If Ansel Saw Elk...."by tfarrell23Comment by autool: You have a nice close up of these elk but it lacks contrast and detail in the elks head. Would the horse drawn item have helped your picture if it had been included? It looks as though you might have been able to reposition for a more interesting shot. 5 |

"If Ansel Saw Elk...."by tfarrell23Comment by LindaLee: The shot seems a little cluttered to me, with the "logs" in the foreground, and the fourth elk in the background - yeah, I know, nothing much you can do about it on dpc, it's just my observation! The shot also seems dark to me-(my monitor is calibrated), I would like to see it brightened up some. |
