Great focus on this one. I like that you've maintained detail through the depth of the rose. Has your background been achieved through a shallow DOF or post processing? I'm not sure but I feel like it's been blurred, good choice, but I think I'd like it even better if it were even more bokeh, but then again you may not have been able to maintain such focus on the rose with a lower aperture. Too bad about the blown out part. Nice use of contrasting colors too.

desserts are hard to shoot..but you have done a pretty good shot. I have just 2 suggestions to make....more of the dessert should be in the frame (too much white space on top) and slightly more light on the cherries.

the border doesn't quite work for me. I also seem to be pre-occupied with how unappetizing this dish looks. Compositionally, I wouldn't miss that second cherry in the background if it weren't there. But overell, I don't think the texture of that green goo favors the cherries in any way. Just my opinion.

Love the way you use the stems of the cherries to create sweeping curves/ parallels. Wonderfully simple and yet composition works well as do bright colours.
