Comment by Brielle:
I really like the light and soft focus of this photo. I know this was a fence outtake, but I feel like the fence post itself is a little too dominant in the picture and takes away from the horse.

The border works well with this image and contrasts well with the snow and sky. Nice composition, the horse and the tree balance well.

This is a nice shot, really good angle. Real shame you didn't have a rich blue sky for the background. No mention of what aperture, looks to be pretty wide open (probably in part due to the lighting). Would suggest shooting more around f/8- f/11 for greater DOF.

Comment by Jutilda:
I like how the red tones tie in, but with the long horizontal line of the barn in the background, I just feel as if it's "cut off." I'm a huge fan of the portrait orientation, but I think in this case, I'd like to see it wider, with the horse, still in the left corner. I like the tree to the right as a counterbalance. OR shoot close, concentrating more on the fence itself, blurring out the line of the background more.

I like the composition of this one. The "compactness" seems to work better in the portrait orientation. I think what helps this one is the vertical line created by the tall white silo. It mimics the color of the horse, rooftop and snow, as well, which helps to tie it all together. I'd definitely remove the gray inner frame.

I like the use of the small aperture, and the reflection on the ice.
