I've never heard this Superstition but its very interesting. Those black lines at the top take my eye away from the path. since you coudln't have cropped that out with out losing the arch maybe including the etire balcony or over hang of whatever that is holding up would have been better.

Feels slightly tilted towards the left. I think it would be stronger as a vertical of just the path - the bright white on the left side is distracting.

Lovely photo. This is an awesome capture but its hard to associate it with challenge theme. Maybe thats why it did not scored that well. I did not voted for this challenge but would have given 6. But if this one is not linked to challenge theme, I'd have given it nothing less than 9. The beautiful model and peaceful look does not really compliment desolation. Beautiful eyes and lighting.

This is a beautiful photo. Without the title, though, it's hard to tell that she's desolate. It looks more like she's just relaxing, pondering life. There's no real feeling of sadness to it.
