In The Year 2003by TarbiniComment by breezy: I LOVE this shot because you kept your glasses on. It makes you 10 times more interesting. In addition I like the border, and it is so technically clean that I just want to keep looking. Very cool that you're not looking into the camera. How did you reduce the glare? |

Graffiti Countryby TarbiniComment by justine: I like this shot. Sky is dead with clouds like so often here in Oregon. Hate that but not a thing ya can do. This is a good shot, interesting to the eye with lots to look at. It's got lonely feel. |

Graffiti Countryby TarbiniComment by JPR: Nice tones. Where is this? it looks familiar. I would have cropped off the right side to get rid of the dark trees. |

DOCutivityby TarbiniComment by p_johns: Vivid colors, great depth of field, a message, what more is needed! I especially like the 'on' light. |

Liquid Goldby TarbiniComment by mcrochip: *Critique Club*
FIRST IMPRESSION: Maple syrup... but seeing as it's Karo Syrup, I wasn't too far off. The specks on the spoon are a bit too pronounced, I think.
CHALLENGE: "Liquid, not water" was the challenge - as you've used karo syrup, the challenge is met.
COMPOSITION: There's something about that spoon that I'm not crazy about, maybe its darkness, or those glare spots. I like the liquidity of this shot, with the immersion effect of the poured syrup into the pool.
TECHNICAL: A bit of glare, and a little bit in the way of too much contrast between the spoon and the shadows. Since the bowl is not really an integral part of the shot, its defocused edges work well to bring the eyes back to the syrup in the bowl.
CONCLUSION: Meets the challenge well, and holds my interest as a viewer. The glare specks in the spoon, and the color/flatness of the spoon itself are a slight problem, but overall it's a good piece of work.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in future challenges! |

Architectural Digestby TarbiniComment by lecalan: I love this one. It would be perfect for a cover photo. Beautiful choice and love the composition. Neat framing, too. Also nice in b/w. Maybe could have been a tad bit more sharp with a bit more contrast to the detail of the artwork. A beautiful 9. |
