Looks like this should have been in the portraits challenge. I would have probably only given this a five. You've captured a good moment, but too much of the face is out of focus (including the eyes).

You have likely gotten a number of these, but I believe this was entered in the wrong challenge and thus is a DNMC entry which generates a score of 1. If it had been entered in the portrait in landscape challenge, it would probably be a 5 IMO. The bokeh is very nice in the back, but the yellowed highlights on the right side of the image are a bit blown out (over exposed).

I'm sure the subject means a lot to you and that is what is important. Photography is so subjective and on portraits, we generally film those that move us. It is hard for someone who knows nothing of the subject to make that connection so it becomes very important that the technical aspects of the photo are right on. I have a lot of post-processing learning ahead of me so please just treat these comments as merely one viewers opinion.
