Wayyyyy too much JPEG compression is taking away most of the detail in what would otherwise be an interesting view with nice light. Your file size is only 64k and you could have used up to 200k for this challenge. Compression kills detail. Always use the least compression you can get away with and still come in under challenge limits.

The sense of "moment" is present in this image and the obvious character being captured is intent on placing the ear plugs. Technically and artistically, it seems a little dull which may be the lighting conditions in addition to being, well frankly uninteresting. A good entry into the challenge just lacking that something special to make it stand out.

I think this truly covers more the definition of flora than a lot of the other shots in this challenge. However, even though it meets the spirit of the challenge perfectly, as a picture it leaves a little to be desired. First of all, the horizon is not straight. Second, I think if you had something (a tree, a flower, a leaf of grass, etc.) as a subject and then had all the rest of this flora as a background it would have more focus to it. Right now it almost feels like an accidental shot because there's no specific subject and it doesn't really offer anything impressive as far as a landscape goes.

How can they walk away without paying for my music?

For me I wouldn't call this 'High Contrast' it doesn't push it hard enough. However, it is a well captured lizard and the clarity of textures are fantastic.

I guess for me, it just doesn't feel hot. The blue of the sky is a cooler colour by nature and the tans of the sand and structure are not warm enough to compensate. Personally it looks more comfortable than hot. Not that it wasn't, but it just doesn't appear to me that it was.

OK.. i take it.. its not nice to be sitting right at the bottom of the challenge... may be it was my screen color issue... but i really thought its purple when i posted it.

225 / 225... gives me a good reason to start taking the photography seriously.

Not sure why this is in the purple challenge.....you can see a lot of reflections in the glass which kinda spoils the shot.
