Ok -- I was going back and forth on whether I'd consider anything a distracting element. It seems to all fit to well to really be a distracting element. (doesn't matter for the score -- I see why it might be considered one, so that's close enough. But what was distracting was the composition just didn't seem right. It's a great find, and a great bird, but the centering of the photo just seemed wrong to me. It's like taking something hidden and shouting to the world that "here it is"! It's such a nice little scene, that I want it to be just a little more of a mystery/discovery. So I'd get rid of the vignette, and move her off center someplace so people can have the joy of the discovery. -6- as is. (just musing out loud on the comment. :)

The soundtrack is excellent, as you might expect, and the performances were very natural, but at over two hours it feels a little indulgent. With more clipping and less clucking, this romantic sequel to Hitchcock's The Birds could have been a 90 minute masterpiece.
