That is some insanely shallow dof. It creates a very "tense" feeling, along with the serrated edges, in the shot.

This is very nice. I really like the contrast of the striped pants and the curve of the "thing." The bare feet also work well -- shoes would have totally made this shot lose its "child" appeal, I think. Also, I really like the bw conversion that you have done.

Looking at the thumbnail, you really have no idea what it could be, but in bigger I like the smoothness and feeling of depth and found it doesn't matter what it is :) it's a beautiful abstract!
