august anglersby bspurgeonComment by bobnospum: Wow -- that is some use of negative space. It works well but might be too mcuh. I think a square crop might work great here. It is not DPC legal but try using the clone tool to move the boat it to the lower right so it is driving into the frame rather than out of it. |

august anglersby bspurgeonComment by Paul: I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: I've picked this up in this comment series for your eclectic use of negative space - on an iPad (not where I'm typing this from, but I did peek earlier) one has to scroll down to realise this isn't a block-grey classic. It's a fine boat, well imaged and it does a great job to anchor the image (pun intended) - most of all though, I like how we can just make out the horizon through the mist.
Critical stuff: No
Overall: Bold and effective. |
