I think the subject of the photo has a lot of potential, although I've a sneaking feeling I'll be looking at a lot more chess pieces before I've finished judging this challenge.

The texture on the pieces is quite absorbing, but I think it could've been framed better. Maybe you could have featured the white pieces more strongly, to come up with a more interesting composition.
