Centennialby hahn23Comment by streetpigeon: Nice scenery threaded by a stream that coyly vanishes and reappears with numerous modest vanishing points created by the viewing angle. It's an interesting take on the challenge, with substantial depth and far-flung rhythm. |

Centennialby hahn23Comment by Pangurban: Whilst I like this as a landscape, I didn't think it highlighted the Vanishing Point strongly enough. |

Nymph Lake in Augustby hahn23Comment by giantmike: Really good scene, with really good HDR in everything except the very top. Clouds can be hard to deal with in a scene like this, but some careful attention can help. |

Momma Feeds 2by hahn23Comment by hahn23: Originally posted by Revecca: Wish momma's head wasn't cropped off. |
Under the lampshade of an outdoor fixture. The momma hb chose the spot because it was protected from weather and predators. I, of course, did not crop off her head, but instead cropped the portion of the image which does not include the overhanging shade. It's a photo few people have ever seenĂ¢€Â¦ not only the HB nest but the feeding of the chicks. |

Marmot Multiplicityby hahn23Comment by wbanning: Yep. I'm going to agree with the prominence of the foreground rock as the detractor for me. I love the expressions, though and gave it a 6. |

Marmot Multiplicityby hahn23Comment by Revecca: For what it's worth, my vote was a 7. I thought it to be a good image with good perspective and lighting. I can see what giantmike is referring to in terms of the composition. Maybe a tighter crop would've been better and it would've shown us more detail in the actual beavers.
I still really liked this image especially due to their facial expressions. Very cute. |

Marmot Multiplicityby hahn23Comment by giantmike: I gave this a 6, which is often my "average" vote in a free study.
It didn't come out and grab me, I think due to the composition. That rock takes up about 40% of the photo, and the critters only about 20%. This gives the boring rock a lot of prominence. Maybe some tighter cropping would have helped. |
