Great use of the rule of thirds with the anchor. Your eye is drawn to the anchor because it is nice and crisp with some wonderful tones. Then your eyes are drawn to the rest of the picture. Having the background really makes the anchor pop. Nice job.

Looks like something really unpleasant has been dragged up from somewhere very deep. Your high key oof background keeps bringing my eye back to whatever it is (even though my eye wants very badly to escape).

From the thumbnails of the three photos you just posted, this one pulled me in.

This is a wonderful photo for B/W treatment. Some very nice lines and patterns going on here. You'd think it would be too busy, but they all work together quite well. Having the ship and retainer wall slightly OOF by the DOF is the key. Adds interest without distracting. Placement of the anchor in the composition is perfect. Draws you right in.
