I posterised because I know very little PS and just couldn't get it depressing enough any other way I tried :(

I did try it with the tree both in and out, couldn't decide, but I liked the big raindrop splashed in front of the tree, so decided to leave it. I just wasn't thrilled with the image overall, but didn't know how to get it how I wanted, and couldn't bear not to have that update button!

you must have hit on a good image, because you scored a 5.4 with some clear problems on PP. The immediate issue I noticed was the pixelation in the grays. The puddle reflection and above the bench as well. Ah, I see you did posterize. I'm not quite sure why (although I don't have a ton of experience with the effect).

The composition and subject give a nice desolation feel. At first I wanted to crop out the large tree or rock on the right, but I decided, in the end, that it works with it in.

I'm not sure the tree adds a lot compositionally. I love the wet look, though, and the reflection of the empty bench.

What a beautiful evening shot! Have you done an PP? Just for the fun of it you might try bumping up the saturation on the Magentas and the cyans. I am not suggesting this as an improvement- this is a great photo- I like to play with things like that. Sometimes it produces an interesting effect.
