Redby BeeCeeComment by acrotide: I only voted on about 2/3 of the shots, so I never got to yours. :(
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought you'd used selective colour, but it just seemed that way. I really like the contrast of the bright red apple against the grey and white of the rest of the scene; really helps to focus the view on the subject. Very good reflection you captured, which helps with the focus on the subject and brings a little more to the shot as a whole.
Unfortunately, I don't exactly find the subject very interesting, which I think is what may have brought your score down, though I could be wrong. Technically, I think it's a great shot, except for the blown highlights on the apple; bright colour and nice composition in general. With the subject at hand, I probably couldn't have shot it any better.
Hehe, noticed that you placed just ahead of Becky :) Message edited by author 2006-07-26 07:34:37. |

Redby BeeCeeComment by jah_luv: Great job! I love the continuity of color between the ocean and the sand, and how the brightness of the apple sets itself apart, making it a true focal point. Also loved how you captured the reflection of the apple, and the fact that there wetness in the foreground. I loved the bubbles in the water as well. I'm giving this a 7 for meeting the challenge theme so well, and for the technical merit that this deserves. I'd score it higher, but there were just so many photos that had alot more going on in the way of interesting subjects. |

Molten Gold and Diamondsby BeeCeeComment by notonline: At first glace I thought this was a very cool shot realizing what it was. I bet this gets slammed for not being "gold". Excellent clarity and color but DNMC IMO but your not getting marked down for that from me. <7> |
