Patienceby paynekjComment by PenelopeK: Interesting muted palette and textures on the rocks. Unfortunately this composition does not work for me, independent of the challenge topic. In addition the angularity of the smaller rock that is balanced on top of the larger rock seems distinctly un-zen. |

No. 1A Pocket Kodakby paynekjComment by paynekj: I have a bit more information on this. It has an autographic back on it, and in that back the film pressure plate has a long list of patent dates, the first is Nov 24, 1908 and the last is Nov 8, 1921. |

Ensign E29by paynekjComment by krnodil: The box cameras are always intriguing - you would think they look the way they do because it was such 'early days' that designs were simple and utilitarian, but they were manufactured all through the years that other cameras were designed to be far more flashy. I suppose it was a cost thing - cheap equaled no-frills design. |

Olympus Trip AFby paynekjComment by Yo_Spiff: This looks like one of those point and shoots that appears at first glance to be a cheap camera, but is probably pretty decent. |

No. 1A Pocket Kodakby paynekjComment by krnodil: You've got an early one there - that Eastman Kodak logo at the top of the lens dates from 1907. This specimen looks to be in good condition, looks like Model D 1909-1915. If you remove the film cover on the back and look on the inside of the cover, there might be further information etched there that states the model (there were a # of variations of the No. 1A non-autographic). |
