Black Dogby xianartComment by raish: So you were actually referencing the book. Duh-uh - I hadn't spotted that. Thanks for the confirmation (of something). Terrific book. Disturbing. Good crack at picturing. |

Dance Me to the End of Loveby xianartComment by purpleflutterby13: Just amazing. Possibly my favourite Leonard Cohen song. (one of those I'll sing at 3am after a lot of wine when that mood strikes...)
"show me slowly what I only know the limits of" is one of my favourite lines - it manages to capture in a single line a touch, a mood, a story, a feeling...
"raise a tent of shelter now, though every thread is torn" - I love, for the persistence and strength that comes through it. Sticking together when everything's fluffy and perfect is easy, try it when everything is falling apart...
And great picture to go with the song :) I love the low key mood, I think it's a must for this. And you can somehow look at the couple and see them living out the song, verse by verse, and ending up there, in the end, in the picture, going full circle and still loving each other.
Love it :) And I'll race ya for Chelsea Hotel No. 2! |

Spring is like a perhaps handby xianartComment by ErinM: The way that you've constructed your image, in bits and fragments, divided by color and words, echoes the structure of the poem so effectively. Message edited by author 2008-03-02 22:13:37. |

Spring is like a perhaps handby xianartComment by posthumous: yes it works nicely the way ee's magical words go in and out of the imagery he attempts to recreate. I did think it was funny though to see his poem in a handwriting font, since he was so concerned about typesetting and how his poems looked on the printed page. This kind of becomes the poem behind the poem, the dream that became the poem. I think you should have gone all the way and scanned in some actual handwriting. Ha... you can save that for when you get a commission! hahaha |
