Look out, it's a red hot poker!by xianartComment by klstover: Oh yes, I remember when I came across your entry it did not seem as "larsonesque" as some of the other entries. This would definitely have helped me understand more.
In any case, this is a great image and it doesn't scream "fake" at me, which I think shows that you did an incredible job. |

Look out, it's a red hot poker!by xianartComment by posthumous: I don't find this particularly funny (Far Sides aren't always funny, either), but it's still a well-executed pun and is more interesting as a photo than it would be as a cartoon (I consider that a good thing, since this is a photography challenge). 9 |

Bits 'n Bikesby xianartComment by Mark: I am fond of the kind of selective focus that can be achieved using a Lensbaby, and I think that you did an excelent job of keeping the focal point sharp, which is not an easy thing to do in many cases. It seems to ma that the image is still a little static due to the composition. You might want to try moving the focal point to follow the rule of thirds, or just to one side. It seems corny, but in this photo you haven't left room for the wheel to go anywhere. By possibly showing a little more of the bike and left some negative space on the right, the image could show more action. You could also try a much tighter crop, putting the center of the wheel up and to the left a bit and cropping all but a tiny bit of the wheel.
still a well done image, but with a little more thought It could be much more interesting.
Keep shooting,
Mark |

Look out, it's a red hot poker!by xianartComment by Pedxer: Great shot, I love your setup and your Post P. my suggestion would be to make it look a little more like the guy from the strip (really nerdy and silly looking) that was half the fun. |
