I think a tighter crop so that the little girl on the left was the focus would have made this more interesting and effective. As it is, though, I like the way all the kids are doing something different and how the hands on the right so the motion so well.

The transition from land to sea? I am probably not sufficiently intellectual to understand this, but for me there are some problems with the photograph: the composition seems rather 'grabbed', rather than considered, especially with the the division line falling so close to the centre. I am not keen with the perspective point from which the photo has been taken and would have preferred a lower vantage point, although that may not have achieved the affect you were looking for...
