orangutang.jpgby FalcComment by macrothing: Very nice capture, excellent colors. 'If only' it were sharper/not quite so 'blurred' - but opportune likely. |

seal-pup3.jpgby FalcComment by macrothing: Good shot and good capture. Apologies if wrong, but seems needs a slight nudge rotation up on the left, but difficult to tell. The sheen on the coat/fur is good, especially given likely contrast/lighting issues. Nice sharp whiskers, especially against the blue/water background. |

seal1.jpgby FalcComment by macrothing: I have to assume you did not get too close to this one as it was fairly 'large'. I see a lot of potential here though, especially given the reflection. Colors are very nice. I also imagine that the contrast was very difficult to control/adjust and obviously a fair amount of detail has been lost due to the dark nature of this bull(?). The seemingly setting sun reflection/cast on the right is nice, but again, that effect/element 'used' more may have made this even better in my opinion. Possibly even some more space at the fore, if you had it, so as to get a fraction more of the reflection. |

seal-pup2.jpgby FalcComment by macrothing: Good capture. No idea how far away this pup was (and am no expert in photography, obviously) however it seems as if the 'focal point' is sharpest on the sand(?)/earth below the face/neck/shoulders. The pup's right eye is fairly sharp, the left I assume is dark purely because of shadow (and even more difficult to adjust given the coloring(s)), but if the nose/whiskers and eyes, were all nice and sharp would make this even better in my opinion. Like the (seemingly) 'ground level perspective' and even the 'fore bokeh' effect of the sand(?) at the fore. Undecided if this would look 'better' with the top/water cropped out, but the color of it is nice and complements the pup and also gives more context, so who knows. edit:removed temporary note Message edited by author 2005-12-19 19:04:46. |

2000 years Before Christby FalcComment by nordic: I am interested to find out where this ancient site is, I do like the balance with the tree against the stones, but for the title the main subject needs to have more impact in the image, good luck |
