I enjoy watching the Gorillas at the San Diego Zoo, as they strike such interesting poses, much like what you have here. Shame the concrete has such strong presence in this shot, and a tighter crop may have worked better.

Despite minor visual flaws this remains a very impressive image. You see, I look at an image and I first seek the good in it. Here I found the good lighting, good colors and a quiet somber feel. As artist, we choose what we want to show or hide. Here you opted for a great breath of negative space with a diagonal line across the abdomen. From here the imagination takes over and some will wonder and examine the why for the diagonal and then the sheer blackness. I can read into it many things but we are dealing with an audience that gives each image an average of 20 seconds! Some are not prepared to study an image very deeply. However, you have the talent and not lose heart with your placement. Keep looking at images as they bubbled up to the top 30 in every challenge and soon you will get the knack when composing your future masterpieces. Keep up the good work as you exhibit great potential.
