You did a great job of controlling the natural light by shutting the curtain. There is some graininess to this photo that doesn't do it any justice. Also the subject is somewhat dark and I would have liked to this photo exposed for the foreground, rather than the background. All in all this is a beautiful still life object that is composed very well in the frame.

This photo doesnt really do much for me... yes it meets the Contre-Jour challenge criteria but the subtle lighting from the window behind brings nothing to the photo. It also appears slightly soft.
