I'll have to agree totally with what was said before me. The side profile POV is very nice. To me your description and title are spot on! Also the darkened bars are subtle enought that they do not distract the typical viewers eye. Thanks for stepping out. -BB

This was my 2nd place image (my top pick finished 41st).
By the title I wondered if this was a CBUS shot and was surprised to see it was you, Tim, as you say it is a different kind of image for you.
The blur could have worked, especially with the sepia and the aspect ratio - it exudes a large format print feel.
But as has been said, the blurring was not executed as well as it needed to get top votes.
You should check out the Tiffen DFX package - it has a really great selective lens blur tool a la` Lensbabies.
Would be interesting to see the results it would have on your original.
