Plates? Never heard of 'em.by timfythetooComment by sherpet: Well done mate, "bravo" and if I had done this, I think DPC would have folded for sure, as the system would have completely broken down..... I am so pleased you are yourself, and this is awesome, and so suits the challenge. Thank you for being you..... |

Plates? Never heard of 'em.by timfythetooComment by timfythetoo: Just a quick comment on others comments. Everyone is free to say what they want. I doubt I would have gone as far as some have but it really is no big deal to me. This site is a game and everyone learns how to play the way they want to play. Commenting is just part of that game. It's a bummer that some people dislike what I do, but you cant please everyone.
A quick comment on friend voting - Look at my score histogram. Did this shot deserve the 1s, 2s, and 3s? How many non "friend" 1 votes does it take to counteract the "friend" votes? I know people know me here and I know many people recognize my images but I do not intentionally try to appeal to my "freinds" for higher votes. And if I was then I have been failing hard because alot of my past "recognizable" entries have not even come close to ribboning.
And a quick comment on what I shoot. I shoot what I like. I shoot what I am good at. I shoot what I want to. I dont shoot macros, I rarely shoot landscapes, I dont shoot wine glasses. I like shooting people, I like shooting my kids, I like shooting humourous images. Many of the images that I shoot for challenges end up on my walls. Aimee and I want to start a portrait business so DPChallenge offers us that playground to experiment and try out new ideas. So I shoot people. And I enter people. I also enter these images on other sites. And guess what - they score high and ribbon. And considering I rarely vote or comment on those sites you would think the scores and awards would be lower since I dont have any "friends" over there. But yet they do very well. Not sure why.
Overall though this site is a game. Relax and play. Use it to improve what you do. Dont stress over what others are doing. Have fun, play, learn, experiment, make friends. Dont let yourself get caught up in frustration and anger. It's a game!
And just a side note. What I found particularly amusing was that some comments that were left on this entry may have fit this particular challenge better than many of the top 10 entries. |

Finally – and this may be crossing the border between what is acceptable in a comment, which if it does then I do apologise for – This sort of picture suggests that you may have some fairly significant self esteem issues. If you ask a proper doctor about this sort of behaviour then they will tell you that it does not display self confidence in ones appearance but rather indicates a need for validation by trying to turn deficiencies into a joke and thus trying to deflect themselves from real issues of concern. This can have, in some cases, long term psychological impacts on a person and if this is the case with you then I would genuinely recommend trying to get some therapy or counselling to help you through this |
I'm certain you have just lost any respect that people had for you beforehand.
This is a purposely hurtful comment, and you know that.
Whether this photographer has self confidence issues or not is 1. Absolutelly nothing to do with you, and is certainly not for you to pass comment on, and 2. Announcing your "feeling" towards his confidence levels in front of 100s of people is very childish.
You need to grow up and stop being a bitter, jealous person. |

To be honest with you Jon it seems you are the 3 year old girl throwing a tantrum. So here it is the comment you were waiting for to validate your sour grapes. Tim is my boy and I am in a sense defending him at the same time flaming you. If only you would have commented on the concept and photography and not the man, it just smacks of jealousy and I can't believe Tim checked your comment as helpful. I would have checked it "childish". :-/
@ Tim I will deleted this comment if you want. Just PM me and it will be done. You have a thicker skin than I. It is a real bummer about the haters and I have never in my almost 3 years here seen a comment like that BS. |
ROFLMAO about the photo and about the arguing. Calm down folks!! This is just a game :-). Tim, how about waxing your abs for your next entry ? Your wife should put you in jail man!! Message edited by author 2008-07-02 05:27:07. |
