Nicely executed. I like how you can see just enough of the man to show his "Harley Man" style. You probably could have cropped out the tank and still got a really nice image and would have avoided the slight distracting reflections there. |

Jammy Timeby timfythetooComment by jorr: Cute expression!!! SpongeBob is a hit with lots of people, not just the little ones either, I know a few in the late twenties to early thirties that love him. I too think a tighter crop on the left side would have worked a little better, as it stands I find my eyes traveling to that large empty space expecting to see something, which of course pulls my eyes off your cute subject. One other thing, seeing only a portion of his hands distracts me, maybe cropped right at the bottom of the shirt would have worked as the hand on the right side of the picture seems a wee bit soft. Overall cute and definately has yellow |

International Juggling Association Festival - Reading PA 2002by timfythetooComment by Louis: There's a lot of great activity in this beautifully composed photograph. The items in the air are the obvious focal point of activity, their blurred forms creating highly interesting wedge shapes against the almost perfectly black background. The juggler's shirt, with its wavy horizontal lines, add a kind of counter-motion to the vertical thrust of the image, and the creases in the shiny pants support the effect wonderfully. Add to that the fact that, with this image, frozen at this moment, it appears almost as though the juggler is willing the items to stay aloft with an upward gesture of his arms, and you've got a very satisfying tension between all the elements here. The crop is perfect, adding just the right amount of solid ground for him to stand on, while still leave us with a feeling of dizzying motion.
Duotone seems to be an obvious choice here, and the correct one, in my opinion, supporting the well-executed theme of motion by not detracting with too much colour, which may have added a "busy" feel to the image.
If it had been possible to capture the juggler in sharper focus, or to do so in post, my feeling is the effect would have been outstanding. As it is, a great image, and very satisfying. Thanks!
Hope this helps,
Louis |

Would rather be jumping ropeby timfythetooComment by Hawkeye: Lateral thinking well done. The image is generally nice and sharp. I am not sure about the focus around the negative terminal but then again it may be my eyes. Nice one. |
