challenge -- met
composition -- the long format really works well here, so does b&w. nice title, too.
technical -- somehow this doesn't look as crisp and clear to me as i would expect, but i am at a loss whether that's the photo or post-processing. sorry.
overall impression -- love the idea and composition, not so sure about the technical aspects of it all.

I just love icicles, and this is a very nice shot. Love the black and white, and the nice dark background. The crop on the shot feels slightly unbalanced to me though I can't put my finger on why, exactly. 8

Nice use of the new picture size rule. THe shot looks a bit out of focus, and the icicles aren't the prettiest I've seen, but overall not bad.
