You compensated for the harsh sunlight very well. It's not a distraction at all for me because the black and white actually makes the contrast look quite appealing. I bet the color version is not nearly as forgiving.

I love bicycle photos. I'm not sure why. Maybe cyclists are normally so toned and athletic looking so they make such handsome photos :)

Great shot - I like the urban setting. The B&W is great - good contrast. I think one element that makes this work well is that the background is in the shadows, making the riders standout more.

Good job on the panning to show the sense of motion; it looks like they were really flying. I tend to like the high contrast, but wonder if the harsh light is making it too contrasty. Hopefully that makes sense.
