The crop isn't exactly right and this is one of those pictures that you would want it perfect on. Besides that the lighting isn't right either. See the glare of the light on the lower right side of the plate and not on the upper left side? Instead of shining the light right on the subject you should have bounced it off the ceiling and used a reflector to control the light better.

If you don't have a reflector, you could use aluminum foil, or a mirror. Anything that will reflect light.

This cat looks so much like a lion. I appreciate the image for that reason but I also like your twist on reality. The composition and lighting is very goos as well.
