Wild Dogwoodby kashiComment by pineapple: Texture and colours of the image are rendered sterile because of the lack of background. I'd be inclined to shoot the shoot against a green out of focus background. |

Wild Dogwoodby kashiComment by skewsme: I am reminded of Little Shop of Horrors. It makes me want to turn it on its side so that it looks like a mouth. (might need some eyeballs too ;-) |

Wild Dogwoodby kashiComment by posthumous: It looks like grapes with hairy angel wings! There's something sad to me about that patch of darkness in the upper left that it's reaching for, something that seems unfortunate. |

Wild Dogwoodby kashiComment by Melethia: To me it looks like it's reaching for the light - ready to embrace the warmth. Nice light and detail, too, if you don't mind a technical comment. :-) |

Red Trilliumby kashiComment by dassilem: Lovely photo...FYI (in case you didn't know) this flower is called a Trillium. And in many areas it is illegal to pick these flowers.
[Wikipedia]
Picking the flowers of Trillium can seriously injure the plant. The three leaves below the flower are the plant's only food source and a picked trillium may die or take many years to recover. For this reason in many areas, e.g. British Columbia, Michigan, New York, Oregon, and Washington, it is illegal to pick trilliums. While a popular belief is held that it is illegal to pick the common Trillium grandiflorum (white trillium) in Ontario, no such law actually exists. However, the Trillium flexipes (drooping trillium) is protected by law in Ontario, where it maintains its very small Canadian population.
They are a favorite 'find' of mine, of which I discovered a patch growing on my property this weekend and was educating the kids on them. I was excited to see your lovely photo.

Blue Jayby kashiComment by krnodil: I like how you made the high contrast work for you here - very edgy image, has its own "atmosphere" even. |
