Thanks for the comments - I know it was a bit soft in focus, but I came down with the flu and had taken this shot early in the week and I did want to participate.

With regards to the comment about the "Sparkle of Life" missing .... he just woke up - usually is moving at about 100 miles an hour and I can't get a photo at all. So he was a bit drowsy from his nap, hence the missing sparkle.

Not sure where the despair is in this pic. The building is in bad shape, but the warmth of the sun negates any despair caused by that for me.

needs better focus (it somehow seems oversharpened yet still blurry). I like the composition though. Perhaps this was due to low lighting or the cat being too close with too low an aperature thus giving it a low depth of field. I can't quite tell which part of it was focused on.
