Comment by SDW:
Nice use of minimalism with the flower challenge. Good focus on subject along with lighting. Great DOF. Doesn't have the wow factor I was looking for but your photograph deserves a respectable score (6)

This is good. I find this a difficult bloom, small and always moving in the wind.

This photograph is incredibly well taken and implemented and I can barely think of anything wrong with it. I think your use of your camera is excellent and couldn't have been photographed better. The colours in particular are especially brought out by your 15 second exposure which was certainly a wise choice.

There are just a couple of composition elements that I think may have been slightly improved. The reflection on the first 'trident' of the sculpture distracts the viewer from those amazing colours and slightly ruins the dark and cool mood that this image conveys. The light on the left in the foreground is also a distracting element that could be removed by placing your tripod at a slightly different POV.

Otherwise, great DOF, great camera expertise and you should certainly be happy with your 4th place.

Good Luck for all Future Competitions!
