This is stunning. I wish the reflections in the eyes weren't so obviously umbrellas though. It might be interesting to see what it would look like with the bars of the umbrellas cloned out.

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Quite something to pull off a pet portrait and make it edgy. I love the paucity of colour here and the focus and composition is fantastic. I really like the umbrella catchlights too!

Critical stuff: Nothing at all.

Overall: A great image - I wouldn't have expected to like a cat picture as much as this.
