Solitaryby PhotologistComment by JuliBoc: Well that hard work paid off nicely. Good score and good placement. It's so simple, and the light and shadows are so nice. Good use for selective desat, and the rule of thirds really works.
P.S. I find that every time I set up a shot in a public space, especially if I'm using a tripod, the people just seem to drift into the shot. They try to look like they haven't noticed me, but I know they just want their moment of fame. |

Solitaryby PhotologistComment by Melethia: Your efforts paid off - very good execution for this challenge - simple, to the point, and the desat works for the point you're making. I am indeed surprised you managed to get off a shot without people in it at Huntington Beach! |

Precious Commodityby PhotologistComment by ssodell: I like it. I haven't tried to get one of these shots yet with the water kind of fogging out like that. I think it's the yellow in the plants is a little bright and distracting from the water. Also maybe the pine needles hanging down in the top left are kind of in the way. |

Solitaryby PhotologistComment by Tygerr: I like the use of the colours. Doesn't look so solitary with all those footprints and tyre tracks though... |

Solitaryby PhotologistComment by karmat: cool colors. i think i would like it more if the umbrella was in the foreground rather than the top third, but still a nice shot. |
