She'll Be Grown Before You Know Itby PhotologistComment by undieyatch: Pleasant, beautiful, appropriate image & idea for the challenge. Stepped diagonal & bright/shaded footprint textured sand create a minimal and striking design. Ordered and very well composed. I see top & bottom vignette as noted by others, is merged into the scene in a strong way but has a somewhat clumsy effect. Edit sharpen borders appear over done especially seen in figure edges. Smoked Salmon, Anyone?by PhotologistComment by pamelasue: you're just going to do everything you can to avoid showing us your face aren't you???? oh, and I'm super jealous that it's warm enough for you to be outside and BBQ ... I'd have to totally bundle up and still might freeze to death! |

She'll Be Grown Before You Know Itby PhotologistComment by JuliBoc: Vignetting can help pull the viewer into the image, but if too obvious, it can also become a distraction. You might try burning the edges and/or corners with a very large and very soft brush at between 10% - 17% opacity. That will be subtle enough that the viewer shouldn't notice it, yet effective enough to "contain" the image.
Having said that, I should also tell you that I like this shot a lot -- the special moment with the mother and daughter in a beautifully simple setting. Excellent composition and nice use of diagonal. |
