Bluebell Pathby BenComment by PHOTOKID: I love this shot, the path in it screams walk me.... I think you did a good job cloning out the leaf. I cannot see where you did the cloning. Good use of DOF to blur the flowers also...
Thanks for sharing.

IMG_3077.jpgby BenComment by amandalore: I love the vibrant colors! maybe if you could have positioned the camera so that the inside of the flower was hidden, you wouldn't have to worry about the DOF as I like the softness of the background... also, maybe if the entire background were full of leaves too |

Waspby BenComment by Gunnsi: I am not sure about how much you can enlarge this picture but I would like to see the fly fill a bit more of the picture.
Good colours and focus on subject. I like black frames and it fits this picture very well because of the sharp black lines in the fly.
Hope this helps.

Lone Bluebellby BenComment by UNTITLED: I really like the blurred background from shallow DOF. I wish the foreground flowers stood out a little more from them. If the background had been in darker lighting that may of helped, or perhaps a tighter crop. You probably could of also closed down some stops to get every flower in the foreground in sharp focus. Overall, I really like this photo, good compositions and great color. It's just some of the nitpicky things that keeps this from being over the top with me. |

IMG_3077.jpgby BenComment by Louis: Nice photograph with strong, lovely colours that satisfy. I like the dark contrast at left, coupled with the softer background at right. Overall, it seems a bit soft, thought it could be said that some flower pictures benefit from a softer focus. I enjoy flower pictures that show the central portion of the bloom in sharp focus, with the petals acting as a kind of natural frame. I also prefer when the subject is not so formally centred. An off-centred subject adds much interest in conjunction with dissecting your frame into thirds, a classic photographic technique known as "the rule of thirds", which you may have heard about and bears searching for on Google. |

Soft Tulipby BenComment by DefyTime: I like the shallow DoF...and the soft purple...really like the other flower in the shot taking up some of the dead space. |

Soft Tulipby BenComment by Jaded_Housewife: I like the placement of the flower in this one. I also enjoy the amount of blur in MOST of the shot but would prefer even more blur on the out of focus flower so my eye wouldnt be quite so drawn to it. since i can still see the shape of it it makes me want to see more. Hope I make sense. lovely color, lighting, and focus on the foreground flower though. ;) |

Bluebell Pathby BenComment by Jaded_Housewife: this is exquisite. ive seen it a couple times in the pick your favorite thread. its awesome, the ONLY criticism I have is the big blurred leaf in the upper left hand corner is distracting. great work! |
