At the Parkby kandyjComment by aurora: the sepia toning does not a lot for the picture, wonder if colour would have suited it better |

At the Parkby kandyjComment by SharQ: Nide DOF ans sharpness, but I think it is lackking in contrast. Besides, I think landscape pictures usually picture a.. uh.. landscape, rather than a detail of one. Still, lovely picture (7) |

Lucky Cookieby kandyjComment by HBunch: We all wish. You chose a good background, and the angle and framing/cropping are nice, and focus and clarity are good as well. Technically well done in my opinion. Good luck in the challenge. |

Traveled to Watch the Elk Travelby kandyjComment by goodtempo: Critique Club critique:
Composition/Content: You really got a good shot of the Elk. Framing him in the middle of the image makes him the center of attention. It's too bad he's moving away slightly, but you still managed to get part of his face which shows some of his character. Great subject.
Lighting: It looks like it might have been cloudy with no shadows which accentuates his dark underside and almost white back. Makes the subject very interesting.
Background: Good job with a difficult background.
Camera Work/Technical: There is some grain from either a long zoom or enlarging a small crop.
Digital Processing: Despeckling would help get rid of some of the black and white specks in the background, smoothing the background slightly and separating the Elk from the background a little. Then increasing the contrast some brings out the dark underside and white back, separating the Elk even more from the background.
My Opinion: Besides needing a little post processing I think you did an excellent job in capturing a very interesting animal. The more I look at the image the more I like it.

Kitty in the "No Felines Zone"by kandyjComment by BadPigg: Many shots here in this challenge as well others rely on the title to explain how its connected to the challenge. The picture I think, should say a thousand words or at least be self explanitory. This is an excellant shot very sharp and full of emotion . If the object of this cats attention were included would that have helped?6 |
