This one is a much stronger shot (and scored accordingly) given the crispness, dynamic comp, outstanding light and color - really brought out the detail very well! My nit about this one (which probably accounts for a good score) is the lack of substance/texture in the background, but that's personal taste - many prefer featureless backgrounds and it does serve to show off the bird well.

Jane, you do great birds! I think this one suffered from a lack of sharpness more than anything else. I also think a less centered presentation would have a stronger dynamic, but that said I kinda like the wide view. Good look you captured, too - he certainly seems quite intent on something!
