Good take on the square idea. The building looks good in black and white. Good job

Thanx to all the commenter and voters.
I have to admit that I was not very excited about the topic of this challenge. Therefore I thought: lets make a funny submission. Maybe this time my humor is understood. It seemed that it worked well enough.
Here is how I made the shot:
I took the spare-tire out of one of our cars and cleaned it. I also took a concrete-plate from the garden and cleaned it too. I did bend a nail, did cut it just below the bended part and glued the printout of a stop sign onto it. Arranged everything in my livingroom, sprayed the tire with water and made the shots. Not that the nail is not nailed into the cement, the sign is just laying there.
I needed the water, because otherwise the upper part would be only dark without contrast. Actually I wanted to roll the tire over the sign to make a picture similar to "Swish" (//www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=6897), but the tire was simply too heavy. Setting the light was a problem too, so after some time I gave up and took the best I had for my submission, knowing that technically it could have been done better.

Thank you very much Natasha for your critique on my submission.

As I can see from your comment and from most of the others, I realized to achieve one think with this picture that is more important to me then a high rank: I was able to transfer to the viewer the intention I had in mind when submitting this picture.
That was stillness and peace. These were my thought when I first saw the picture on the computer (during shooting this was not my impression, it rather was "it so cooooooled!").
Thanx again.

Composition-Content
The content of this picture is really beautiful, what a beautiful poem, your picture really evokes the same emotion of the poem, stillness and peace, a lovely concept and vision. i think that your composition is great, I love the simple lines with the plant highlighted in the foreground. The angle that you took this from, is pefect, with the sun backlighting the plant, I have tried this before and it isn't easy. I think that you did it really well.
Background
The background here is great, i think that you have enough background interest here to fit the challenge of landscape. The lines and shades of the trees are captured perfectly, with the snow really setting off the blues of the trees and sky.
Technical
I think that you have captured foreground detail and background well, with lovely colour saturation and use of light. One small detail would be that the picture looks like it could be rotated a few degrees to the right, just to even up the horizon.
My Opinion
I have recently tried a similiar shot to this which was inspired from the book "Understanding Exposure" by Bryan Peterson (excellent book!). He did an example on backlighting objects with the sun, one option is to make the sun out of focus with a wide open aperture, 2.8 or 4.0, positioning the object in front of the sun and photograph in macro mode. This resulted in the foreground object being in focus with the sun a slightly out of focus ball, very nice effects. Of course for this challenge, landscape was the point, not the sun but it could be fun to play with in the future! Anyway, congrats on such a beautiful picture and Good Luck in the next challenge.

From the thumbnail it was fantastic. The black tire looked like it was out in infinity with the road appearing to be the edge of the earth. And the sign like she had mowed right thru it. In the big photo it look like a white speckled tire sitting on a small play stop sign. I lost of of the illusion it had in the small shot. The thumbnail was a 10. This one is harder to score. The white spots on the black tire are very disturbing and the shadow of the tire cutting off part of the "stop sign" looks too fake. The focus is ok, the framing is nice, and the lighting is rather good. But I just can seem to score it fairly for what it is. This may all just be my personal problem, so I will give it a 5 in fairness to you. I hope you tell us exactly how you did this shot.

Very funny! Good simple graphic shot. Concept executed well. The tire texture and very bright pavement dominate the image. Overcast or shadow conditions would yield less harsh tones and allow more visual voice to the sign perhaps ( just a thought ). Nice shot.
