Sea of Sofa'sby YomiComment by albright1: My cats would LOVE to go swimming in this sea... Their little claws would have to work overtime to scratch up all of these things! |

Geothermic Activityby YomiComment by Wes: the harsh contrast between the steamy area and the clear area doesn't look too great in my opinion. The colors in the forground are nice, but contrast too much with the softer fogged over colors in the back. a Lower crop might have helped reduce that contrasting feel in this shot. |

Sea of Sofa'sby YomiComment by Marsha: This is cool. I think if you cropped a tad bit lower on the top eliminating the bright blue it would be even better. Neat concept. |

Under the Christmas Treeby YomiComment by autool: Technically a nice picture, but it leaves me kind of empty on the interest side of things. Maybe this would have been a time to forget the thirds thing and go for the whole effect and center it in your frame. It is a kind of vertigo shot, so go for the gusto. |

Visions in Blueby YomiComment by jmsetzler: Greetings from the Critique Club :)
Jeremy, this is a great macro shot... I think th desaturation of everything but the blue works fairly well in this image. I don't believe there is really anything that I would change abou this image... One of the things that I do believe could be a problem here is the desaturation itself. You got several comments about the editing and how it was done legally. In my experience at DPC, I believe that the voter in general will score lower if they believe you have broken any rules. I can't remember if this photo got any DQ requests or not, but I believe that it did. It's unfortunate that a large number of people here don't have the understanding of what can and can't be done within the rules of the challenge. The modifications that you did do add some interest to the photo, IMO. In most cases, I try to avoid edits that could draw suspicion, no matter how simple they may be for this reason.
Keep up the great work :)
