Shiva DasComment by Brad: There are a lot of things working here that make this shot right in my opinion.
The very slight tilt on her head, the contrasts between her dark eyes/make -up and the wall brightness, the background as a whole and her hair over one eye. I think I would like to see her skin a little less yellow and more into the reds, which by the way, would contrast nicely with the yellow on the wall.
All in all, this is a well done shot.
Edited to add:
After leaving the comment, I wanted to see if what I thought it would look like in my head would be better and did an edit of it. What I did in Photoshop was very simple: Layer, new layer via copy, bumped the contrast up +19, then used the eraser tool to erase the background, her (shirt/top? - the contrast bump made it lose it's detail) and her neck back to original, then Image, Adjustments, Color Balance, selected the highlights button and bumped the top slider to +9 to the red side.
