phasesby posthumousComment by Sheryll: Greater dof would work better here because the bottom left needs to be in focus imo. Love the composition and contrast of the leaf. It would be a much different (and boring) photo without it. Having great texture is the point of the challenge but there are a few shots that are nothing but the texture with no place to focus on. Good job. |

nothing gold can stayby posthumousComment by Teafran: A very creative look at crayons - the image meets the subject matter and with a certain cheeky attitude. A terrific demonstration of the creative process in meeting the challenge. Should be a sure bet to win a ribbon or place high as a top twenty image. A couple of minor detail problems not worth mentioning because they don't appear until you really get a critical eye and examine the image closely. Well done. |

nothing gold can stayby posthumousComment by smudgeSMJ: I think a less distracting background that camoflauged the subject less and more diffused lighting to eliminate the heavy shadow under the subject would make this pop more. Unless the wood adds some meaning to the photo that is going over my head, which is entirely possible. |

revenge of bucket's orchidby posthumousComment by bucket: the idea of photographic attacks is highly appealing to me, surely this is the work of a poet struggling with periphrastic ideas, while still maintaining a keen eye for critical insight... |
